James Isaak: Songs

The Chains That Have Bound Us

(James Isaak)
The words on the wall are not written in stone
but a house made of cards that will crumble if blown
and the dust it will scatter like seeds that will grow
the harvest is quickly approaching
and it’s time for the farmer to reap what he’s sown
cuz the chains that have bound us are broken

The world that is wasting has had it’s last chance
and the song of the siren is fading at last
she looks at you now as she breathes her last gasp
her eyes they are heavy and closing
and the trumpets will call as she goes to her rest
cuz the chains that have bound us are broken

The victim has taken his life in his hands
and the dreamers will wake to the silence of sand
the tyrants are falling they won’t longer stand
the lands they have raped have now spoken
and the roar of the earth will be heard in the wind
cuz the chains that have bound us are broken

The rain it has washed away ravages of time
the clouds they will clear and the sun it will shine
and the shepherds will queue up their flocks in a line
the gates to the kingdom will open
and the marching drums sound through the earth and the sky
cuz the chains that have bound us are broken
