Maybe better days are not behind us
but waiting for us just around the bend
at least I’d like to think thats where they’d find us
if only we could save ourselves instead
and the clouds up in the sky they would stop crying
if only we would ask to see the light
let go your fear and follow me in trying
to raise the day and chase away the night

Some would say they like to hear the raindrops
falling heavy handed on the ground
some would say they comfort from the darkness
inside themselves they spread it all around
but as for me I’m wet and tired of hiding
inside a hole dug deep beneath the ground
so come with me we’ll leave behind the fighting
of the jackals that are tearing up the town

Please do not ask where we are going
just enjoy the sights along the way
besides its much more fun without us knowing
a new surprise to find inside each day
and maybe we can let ourselves be happy
perhaps its not so hard if we just try
but then again we never know for certain
if what we want is really just a lie
